The purpose of the Good Sam RV Emergency Roadside Service
program is to provide you, in the event of a breakdown, with road
side service required to enable your vehicle to either proceed safely
under its own power, or to be towed to the nearest network service
center for repair.
The member, the member's spouse or domestic partner
and any dependent child no more than 25 years old living at home
or attending college the the registered vehicles are covered.
Membership vehicles are limited to one RV and any other eligible
non-RV vehicles owned by any person described above.
The following properly licensed vehicles are eligible for the emergency
roadside service benefit so long as they are used exclusively for
personal or recreational purposes:
- Recreational Vehicles (RV), including self-contained motor homes,
travel trailers, pop-up camping trailers, fifth-wheel travel trailers.
- Non-recreational vehicles: automobiles, vans, pickups, boat
trailers, 2-wheel tow dollies, motorcycles, and vehicles specifically
designed to tow fifth-wheel travel trailers.
When
you call the toll-free phone number for service, Good Sam RV ERS
pays 100% of the towing fees for the delivery of your vehicle to
the nearest service center. You can choose another location and
pay the extra mileage fee (for the extra distance only).
Roadside services are intended to help you overcome
minor problems with your vehicle. These on-site emergency services
are:
- Includes labor to replace a flat tire with your inflated spare.
- Delivery of needed fuel and fluids (water, oil, brake fluid,
etc.).
- Delivery of battery (you are responsible for battery cost).
- Jump start/battery service.
- Vehicle lock out service.
If your membership vehicle becomes disabled and unable
to be driven as a result of a collision with another vehicle, you
will be reimbursed for up to $1,200 of covered expenses, including:
- Reasonable expenses for meals
- Lodging (campground/hotel/motel)
- Car rental
- Emergency phone calls
Good Sam RV Emergency Road Service will assist you and
your family when you need help with a medical or personal emergency
associated with a sudden illness or accident. This assists you with
finding medical, dental and legal help quickly. This also includes
help with prescription replacement , emergency cash, emergency travel
arrangements and emergency message relay.
Q: Why do I need Good Sam RV ERS?
A: Good Sam RV ERS is designed to help you - the Rver - when you
are in need of roadside assistance and towing. We dispatch the best,
most efficient and professional RV towing and repair companies in
the U.S. and Canada to ensure that your vehicles are handled properly
and safely.
Q: Who is protected under the program?
A: The ERS member, the member's spouse, and any dependant children
25 or younger living at home or attending college.
Q: How long will it take for ERS dispatch to arrive?
A: Emergency roadside assistance averages between 45 - 60 minutes.
However, when you call for roadside assistance, a service representative
will be able to give you an accurate estimated time of arrival.
Good Sam RV ERS guarantees quality, on-time service when you need
it most.
Q: How do I use my membership?
A: Simply call the dispatch phone number that has been provided
to you. This number can be found on the back of your membership
card and in your Member Benefits Brochure.
Q: Am I protected in Mexico?
A: Yes. For breakdown occurrences in Mexico, we provide claims reimbursement
up to $1,000 for breakdown services provided.
Q: Does the member have to pay for the service and then submit a
receipt for reimbursement?
A: Not in the U.S. and Canada. Good Sam RV ERS provides Sign and
Drive service. All services are prepaid so you don't have to deal
with forms or red tape. In Mexico, however, a claim form must be
submitted for review and reimbursement.
Q: What towing service would you call in my area?
A: Good Sam RV ERS uses over 30,000 dispatch facilities across the
US and Canada. Whichever facility is closest to the member, has
the proper equipment, and is available for a timely dispatch would
be the one called.
Q: I own a fifth wheel trailer and truck. If my truck breaks down,
does Good Sam RV ERS pay to tow the truck and trailer?
A: Yes! Good Sam RV ERS includes the cost to tow both vehicles to
the nearest network service center that can repair your vehicle.
If the repairs on your truck are serious enough that they will take
several days to complete, Good Sam RV ERS will pay to have your
trailer taken to a safe location, such as the nearest campground
while you wait.
Q: If I don't like this membership, can I get my money back?
A: Yes. Within the first 30 days of your membership, you are entitled
to a full refund - no questions asked. If you change your mind after
that you will be given a pro-rated refund of your membership dues
- even if you have used our services.
